Every year during the first weekend in October, Watershed welcomes visitors to campus for Maine Craft Weekend. This annual event offers an opportunity to explore art and craft studios throughout the state.

Friday, October 4
5-7 PM: CAP Capstone Exhibition Opening Reception
Opening reception in Watershed’s Barkan Gallery for the Maine Craft Association’s annual Mentors & Apprentices exhibition featuring work by artists who took part in the 2024 Craft Apprentice Program. Featuring live music and refreshments, the opening reception is an opportunity for guests to meet the artists, learn about their creative processes, and browse completed pieces on display.

Saturday, October 5
10 AM-2 PM: Barkan Gallery Hours
Visit the CAP Capstone Exhibition to see work ranging from green wood furniture making, basket weaving, natural dyeing & hand weaving, wood instrument creation, pottery, wood firing, and sustainable textiles.

10 AM-12 PM: Wood Kiln Opening & Pottery Sale
Make your way down to the studio for a wood kiln opening and pottery sale with artist Tim Christensen and crew.

12 PM: Windgate Studio & Commons Tour
End the day with a tour of our Windgate Studio and brand new Commons building with Executive Director David East.
