Surface Embraces Shape - Watershed Annual Summer Exhibition
July 2-30, 2010
Reception: Saturday, July 10; time: 3:30 - 6:00pm (following Salad Days)
Curator: Anne C. Wollman
George Mason Gallery
123 Borland Hill Rd
Nobleboro, Maine

Featuring: Josephine Burr, John Chalke, Erin Furimsky, Sarah Heimann,
George Mason, Joseph Pintz, and Virginia Scotchie.

Anne C. Wollman, curator of the exhibit, states, “In this exhibit showcasing the work of seven former Watershed artists, we will be looking closely at the skin; and the eye and the hand will help us to understand the skin. The eye will see the patterning and the hand will feel the texture so that the terms used to categorize human skin can be understood in describing the aesthetic impact of the ceramics. SURFACE EMBRACES SHAPE attempts to focus on the marriage of texture and shape and the importance of surface in highlighting and bringing the shape to life.”

George Mason Gallery is located off Route 215 in Nobleboro/Damariscotta Mills on Borland Hill Road, #123, on the left. The building is an old church. Gallery hours in July are Friday-Sunday, noon-6:00pm
